This is someone with guts and drive. Nong Toom, the transexual & former Muay Thai champion. She's now appearing in a one-woman stage show at the Esplanade.
She went through a lot, both physically and in facing the social stigma, to be a thai boxer and a woman. When asked about the risk she's taking in performing on-stage, solo and in English, a language she learnt only recently, she replied, "It was a risk stepping into the boxing ring. When you're in a ring, you're alone too."
This chick has bigger balls than some men I know...
