on the definition of kitsch...

Found this on tomorrow.sg :

"You can now own a piece of the demolished National Library @ Stamford by purchasing a special brick bookmark at only $10 each. Each bookmark bears a picture as well as a piece of original red brick from the historic landmark at Stamford Road..."

Aki had this to say:

"...Maybe if you actually count all the pieces of brick they're selling, you'll realise that all of them joined together would form 2 National Library buildings? Hahaha..."

Read the original offer at the Comchest website. It seems that anything can be done in the name of charity. Here's a definition of "kitsch": Sentimentality or vulgar, often pretentious bad taste...
